Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the Acumen website, applications, and related services (the “Service”) operated by [ENTITY NAME]. It is part of our Terms of Service. We may update this AUP at any time; continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised AUP.
1. Intended Use
The Service is an educational tool for learning schema-based clinical reasoning using synthetic cases. Output is not medical advice and may not be used to make clinical decisions for real patients.
2. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Service, or permit anyone to use the Service on your behalf, to:
a. Clinical misuse
- Make clinical decisions about a real patient, or represent Service output as medical advice.
- Enter real patient identifiers, protected health information (PHI), or other identifiable individual health data into any input, prompt, or free-text field.
- Use the Service as a substitute for supervised clinical training, a treating clinician, or authoritative reference materials.
b. Harmful or illegal activity
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Generate content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that sexualizes minors.
- Attempt to use the AI to plan, facilitate, or carry out illegal acts — including weapons of mass destruction, attacks on critical infrastructure, or other activities prohibited by the Anthropic Usage Policies, which apply to your interaction with AI features of this Service.
- Infringe intellectual property or misappropriate trade secrets.
c. Security and integrity
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written permission.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent authentication, rate limits, quotas, moderation, or any security measure.
- Introduce malware, ransomware, or any code intended to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its users.
- Impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or share your account credentials.
d. Abuse of AI and automated access
- Use automated means (bots, scripts, scrapers) to access the Service, generate AI requests, or extract content except as expressly permitted.
- Attempt prompt injection or other techniques intended to subvert safety systems, extract system prompts, exfiltrate other users’ data, or cause the AI to produce content that violates this AUP.
- Use the Service to train or fine-tune any AI model, or to benchmark a competing service, without our prior written permission.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or its output.
e. Reverse engineering and scraping
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except to the limited extent permitted by applicable law.
- Systematically extract clinical content (schemas, illness scripts, schema cards) for bulk copying or redistribution.
3. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. In response we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:
- Remove or restrict the offending content or activity.
- Throttle, suspend, or terminate the account.
- Cooperate with law enforcement and disclose information as required by law.
Violations may also subject you to civil or criminal liability.
4. Reporting Violations
If you believe someone is violating this AUP or our Terms of Service, report it to contact@acumen.app.
